What’s Your Joy?

I will start this off really simple and straight to the point. What’s your joy? What is the one thing in this world that truly makes you want to smile? If you have it well….great….you can still read just for the fun in it but, if you haven’t found it or don’t have it…keep reading. When you finish perhaps you will hop onto google and begin investigating methods to achieve your joy. It’s our right to pursue joyfulness and you should let nothing hinder that.

In our day to day lives we have a series of progressions we have to follow and these will always remain inevitable. To live in this world we have to work, we have to earn an income, and we have to provide for ourselves and our families. There is no denying that. But, we don’t have to go through these motions while being miserable. Our attitudes will dictate how pleasant this journey will be. Keep in mind that each day resides out of our control but how we react to it defines us. Giving into your negative feelings and looking for a more simplistic route ruins the human in us.

Don’t let normalcy make you rethink your feelings. Because everyone in a small town wants money and they work the factory doesn’t mean you have to. If inside, you don’t want to live your life at that place then take that leap of faith. Go for that dream. Why live as robots? Going to a job that your only interested in because of the money and nothing else. That isn’t joy. Sure you get some money and can buy things you enjoy. Now seeing those things that you begin to collect can be joyful considering the effort and time to acquire them however, this isn’t enough to truly satisfy. Over time these items are replaced and forgotten. How about looking at something bigger that you can enjoy every day?

So what brings that joy? Maybe something like dancing , or, maybe taking care of animals. I implore you to think hard and seriously. Do not worry about the money right now. If its something you desire as a job then in time the money will come. First you need to get into motion with a plan. What about something less self-oriented and more about around others, one for many, family. If it’s family that brings that true joy then focus a plan to see how you can make it prosper.

What ever it is that you joy, be prepared for roadblocks to hinder you. Map out a new road to reach your goal destination. Don’t let anyone down your joy. If they say you can’t make money doing that then who cares. Maybe its not something you can make money with but that shouldn’t be cause to abandon it. If it brings joy then isn’t it valued more than money? Hobbies are essential to our joy. If we wake up, go to work, and back to bed then that’s just existing. Embrace your hobbies.

This doesn’t mean just straight up abandon your job. That’s a disaster and sets you to fall backwards. Be smart and set goals to achieve your joy. What can you do tomorrow to prepare next week? Next week what can you do to prepare for next month. It’s almost like a game of chess. Always be thinking three steps ahead and playing out scenarios of what could prevent you from reaching it. With that, how you lose is by giving up or making a mistake that can put you straight into checkmate. Ignore the noises of the world. Trust what you believe to be right. We have feelings for a reason. Trust in them.

So why go on living just to exist when we have the potential to feel! Be something. Don’t go through the motions and live just to survive. Once again, we are not robots. Robots are machines simply powered and repeat the same task every day existing without emotion. We have been created this way and are made for more. Ignore the robots of the world and go your own way. Be different. Don’t give into peer pressure and do the joys your friends want and abandon your own. It’s your life not theirs. Don’t abandon them but don’t abandon your goals. Be joyful. Don’t wait for a miracle and all of sudden your happy. Go after it. Your goals are not impossible. Be yourself.
